Right now I am going to be a senior at the start of the next school year. My grades are good enough and I have applied to several school in the area. My hope is that I shall be able to get into North Carolina State University and it seems that my chances are pretty good. At first I was interested in becoming a chemical engineer, but after some research I decided that it would not be much fun and it would be extremely hard. I have changed to computer graphics after learning about prop scanning and the related techniques used in the movie special effects industry. I like computer graphics and I know a little bit about them from fooling around on the internet with different things. So I thought it would be better to pick something where I was already fairly interested and that way I would be able to focus more than I would if I were not as interested. A lot of things are harder for me if I do not like to do them or learn about them.
I have started out with a model of a flea that I found on a site which uses this sort of thing for science. I thought that would be pretty simple, but the truth is that I do not know enough to do anything very easily right now. So I need to learn more about the very basic things involved in modeling in 3D before I go onto harder things. It is not so simple as it might have seemed to me at first and the college courses seem like they are necessary. Other careers you might be able to learn stuff on your own, but it seems that in this case you need a lot of resources to help you along the way.
